In November of 2013, I took a trip with a good friend to Guatemala. Our objective was to put on trusses and roof for a school that Mennonite Air Missions was building. MAM has a Cessna 206 six-seater that they fly for emergencies and general transportation. The main reason why I took this trip was to get a taste of mission flying and also to visit another culture. We did go on a flight and needless to say it got me very excited. While I was down there I accompanied a group of people to visit an abandoned 450 acre ranch. They're plan is to start a boy's ranch where homeless or fatherless boys that are fresh out of high school can come and learn life skills and trades and give them some direction in life rather then going on a street and joining a gang. There is also an airstrip there and part of the plan is to use a plane there as well. An hour's flight to Guatemala City will save 12 hours of bumpy driving and a river boat ride. Enjoy the pictures and God Bless!
